(American, b. 1915 - d. 2001)

Edward Kezur M.D., age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. Born in Toledo, OH, on December 11, 1915, he was the son of the late Samuel and Gussie Kesurer, Russian Immigrants. Dr. Kezur received his B.S. from the University of Toledo, received his M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry. On June 30, 1944, in New York, NY, Edward married his Isabel A. Schechter. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1994. He opened his Hamilton office in 1948 and was the Director of the Mental Health Center for four years, Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Consultant of the Student Health Services of Miami University for 37 years. He was a member of the Isaac M. Wise Temple of Cincinnati, Butler County Medical Society, Fellow of American Psychiatric Association, American Medical of Ohio State and the Hamilton Rotary Club.

During WW II while serving in the U.S. Army Chaplain Medical Corps he received a Purple Heart. Dr. Kezur is survived by his daughter, Dr. Barbara Kezur, Ph.D., Child and Family Therapist, and her husband John Mason of Westport, CT; son, David Kezur, Family Therapist of Tarrytown, NY; three grandchildren, Rachel, Katie and Hannah Mason; and brother Sidney Kezur of Toledo, OH. His daughter, Susan Kezur, preceded him in death.
