Beverly Erschell (American/Cincinnati)

Beverly Erschell has long admired the work and world of Henri Matisse. "There are two ways of expressing things," one is to show them crudely, the other is to evoke them artistically. " Beverly would most certainly agree with the statement. When she paints she is creating a world that bears resemblance to the scenes that inspired her, but it fundamentally is the work of her imagination.

Beverly Erschell earned an Associates of Art degree from Stephens College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1969 and a master of fine arts in 1971 from the University of Cincinnati.  She has developed an extensive exhibition history that includes such local and regional venues as the Contemporary Arts Center, the Dayton Art Museum, the Cincinnati Art Museum, Miller Gallery, Closson’s Gallery, Malton Gallery, and the College of Mount Saint Joseph.

Her artwork has been exhibited nationally at Walter Wickiser Gallery, New York, NY; VenableNeslage Gallery, Washington, D.C, Sherry French Gallery, Boca Raton, FL,and the David Dike Gallery in Dallas, TX.  Her work is represented in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections including: Cincinnati Art Museum, Dayton Art Museum, American Financial, Frisch’s, Proctor & Gamble, First National Bank, Morgan Stanley Chase, Cincinnati Financial, Cincinnati Bell, Corpex, and the University of Cincinnati.
